Well they do a bunch of things. First they help prevent you from accepting Spammers into you’re community. Usually if spammer comes across a community they can’t instantly join, they move on because the bot doesn’t know how to answer questions or if it’s a real person, it doesn’t want to waste time answering the questions when it can spam in more communities that don’t have them
It also helps you understand who your potential member is instantaneously. Most members will never engage in your group, and the answers might be your only insight into them and their personalities.
They also give you a chance to sort and filter out the people you don’t want in your community, By putting forth questions, they could be like “What’s you’re estimated Income” so that you can filter out people who can’t afford your services.
Try to use the top 3 questions you can ask to get the most valuable information out of them, any more than 3 would be a little too much for someone trying to join a free community.
